SHINING FORCE EXA TVTROPES UPGRADE
Inside of the Geo-Fortress, they can purchase and upgrade weapons and armor, level up Force Arts, replenish their health and refill their health waters and goddess tears, talk with and exchange party members, and upgrade the Geo-Fortress. The Geo-Fortress, is the main location where the players will be spending their time. Pressing the left and right buttons on the directional pad will move along the items, while pressing the up and down buttons on the directional pad will move along the spells, Geo-Fortress cannon and abilities. The directional pad is used to select which spells and item are used when the corresponding button is pressed. The Triangle button is used to cast spells, shoot the Geo-fortress cannon, and activate skills. The Circle button is used to interact with characters and the environment, pick up items and open doors. The X button is used to attack with the equipped weapon. In addition to controlling either protagonist, two additional party members can be brought to fight alongside them. In addition, Shining Force EXA has the player play as two protagonists: Toma and Cyrille.īattles take place in real-time, and the player is either in control of Toma or Cyrille. Shining Force EXA is an action-based RPG, that plays identical to the previous PlayStation 2 entry, Shining Force Neo. 1.2 Leveling up, Force Arts & Secret Arts. After a giant “NOPE,” I’ve become fairly certain that my time with this little loli will end once I finally get around to completing Project X Zone.Ĭross overs and cameos are nothing new, but the sheer number of characters and worlds in Project X Zone makes it a great title to get a glimpse into a variety of Capcom, SEGA and Namco Bandai franchises, even if their actual gameplay isn’t represented. Hunting down Neneko brought up this lovely result. Some discoveries were a bit less exciting. Now it’s near the top of my list of titles to pick up for the Dreamcast as it looks like a charmingly cheesy late 90’s 3D beat-em-up. While I had a passing awareness of Zombie Revenge, Rikiya Busujima tempted me to actually take a look at some gameplay. Everyone lacks depth within Project X Zone, but sprinkled dialog bits over the chapters gives you a small window into their personalities and their worlds.Īfter spending some time with my new allies, I often end up distracting myself looking up characters like Toma and Cyrille who were completely off my radar as they’re from a 2007 PlayStation 2 title, Shining Force EXA. The starting prologue missions have tidal waves of character introductions, however after that most will just randomly show up and make a comment before disappearing back into the sea of party members. With over fifty character in the main party, which might as well be a small army, there’s not much time to really get to know each of them.
SHINING FORCE EXA TVTROPES SERIES
Despite it being a title built around the idea that players will grab onto characters they’ve know for years, I’ve found myself enjoying meeting new faces from titles and series I’ve yet to unearth more than anything else. Half the fun is seeing your favorite characters team up to battle familiar foes. Project X Zone is all about tickling the inner fanboy in all us as a large variety of franchise characters from Capcom, SEGA and Namco Bandai mix together thanks to dimensional rifts.
